Upazila sharing meeting and training of the GCC project were held

 An Upazila sharing Meeting (to determine effective steps to prevent child marriage) was held on 22 October 2020 in the process of interrogation of the GCC project. Among the guests present at the meeting were Upazila Nirbahi Officer (Saghata), Upazila Chairman, Upazila Vice-Chairman, Upazila Project Implementation Officer, and Upazila Social Service Officer, Chairmen of 6 Unions, Journalists, Information Center Officers, and officials of different levels of MOMODa FOUNDATION.


The topic of discussion was to determine the effective steps to prevent child marriage. The negotiators raised various issues. They say child marriage is a social disorder and unjust. The Upazila Nirbahi Officer suggested holding a sharing meeting with the Kazi who registered the marriage.  The UP chairmen attention to the UNO Upazila Chairman and said,

 "We hope that child marriages will come down to a great extent if you provide fines and punishments to the Kazi who perform child marriages."

GCC project intervention training was held at the Gaibandha project office.

Child marriage is a wide-ranging problem in Bangladesh where the factors driving child marriage are poverty, natural disasters, lack of access to education, social pressure, harassment, and dowry. To fight against this massive problem, MOMODa FOUNDATION organized a two days preparation training program of intervention from 20 to 21 September 2020 for a total of nine personnel under the project of “Enduring more Agency and Community Surveillance Support to Reduce Child Marriage in Bangladesh”. On the first day, Program started with a briefing on the project and an in-depth discussion of the Randomized Control and Trail (RCT) method of the project. On the second day, participants were acknowledged with every stage of intervention and broadly discussed the main two interventions, birth registration certificate and 333 Bangladesh government helpline number.

Digital Data collection training for the HFDC project was held at the Gaibandha project office.

MOMODa FOUNDATION conducted two days training program on data collection and entry for a follow-up survey in the Gaibandha project office from 07 to 08 September 2020 under the project “High Frequent Data Collection: A Case Study of Bangladesh”. Starting with the facilitation of H.M. Masudur Rahman, Project Director, MOMODa FOUNDATION, he deliberated ins and outs of the project. Moreover, Household Round Follow-up and Sexual Harassment questionnaires were discussed by Mr Jahangir Alam, Assistant Manager, MOMODa FOUNDATION. This follow-up survey is managed with the digital platform of SurveyCTO.
